Movie – ****+ Dr. Strange (2016)
Finally, a superhero movie that gets the right balance between story and outrageous special effects. I thoroughly enjoyed Benedict Cumberbatch and Rachel McAdams in the title roles, as well as Tilda and the rest of the secondary characters.
I make a personal appearance
The Oregon Historical Society’s comic creator’s panel came with a comics show that had excellent interactive features, including several comic creation activities that fully involved my grandson and me. Who knew an actual superhero would show up?
NaNoWriMo – completed 50K for year four
Once again, the pressure of NaNoWriMo’s online daily deadline helped me complete 50,000 words of the second book “Rogue Mages” in my Zeus 25 sci-fi trilogy.

Movie – **** Harry and Snowman (2016)
Excellent documentary about horseman and the nag he saved from the glue factory to become a world champion show jumper. A story of human perseverance.
Book – Spellbound (2011)
Book – ***+ Blake Charlton’s second novel is full of novel magic, spells composed in your muscles or out of the air. His extremely complex fantasy world is managed very well.
Book – Rogue Lawyer (2015)
Book – **** In John Grisham’s recent offering, Sebastian Rudd is a lawyer who takes on the worst clients, invests in cage fighters, is a near total loner, but still manages to capture the reader’s interest in watching him thread through the mazes of the legal system.
