Thinking person’s science fiction where the science we know is slowly spinning out of control.

Jeff Johnson’s wonderfully different werewolf tale. More a mystery/adventure than a horror story, Jeff uses the werewolf strength and sense of smell like super powers in sleuthing out the truth or to manipulate those who are after him.
One of my favorite romantic comedies where a bookshop owner falls in love with the most famous actress in the world. Hugh grant and Julia Roberts are at the top of their form, and the script is delightful. Can be watched once-a-month.
Book one of N. K. Jemison’s Broken Earth series chronicling seasons of volcanic upheaval caused in part by Guardians with the power to move the earth.
My favorite 2018 comedy – so far. Way above the bar for pure entertainment and surprises. This kind of fun is why we all go to movies.
Wonderful origin movie for the Black Panther character where the fictional country of Wakonda is fully realized. Chadwick Boseman was terrific in the lead role.
Kim Stanley Robinson’s sci.fi. novel collecting stories with climate impact as a common thread and unheeded urgency as its warning.
Unusual heist movie sold by Ansel Elgort and Kevin Spacey.
Nice musical history of P.T. Barnum. Entertaining effort by Hugh Jackman.
Excellent collection of short films. All these films were worth watching, but although The Silent Child won, my favorite was Watu Wote/All of Us which showed the crippling effects of religious intolerance and the simple power of people bonding with each other in spite of their different backgrounds and surroundings.
